Sonya is a yogi, born & raised in Raton, NM. While completing her Bachelor’s Degree of Science Education in Community Health at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, she found yoga. While in school she attended yoga teacher training—completing both in 2011. Yoga taught Sonya to slow down, cultivate present moment awareness, and how to take charge through intentional living. Yoga also taught her how to continue on with gratitude, peace, and grace—regardless the circumstance. Sonya now lives in Trinidad, CO and is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor who believes in the power of movement for wellbeing. She loves teaching many styles of yoga—youth classes, hot yoga, vinyasa flow, aqua yoga, yin, and paddle board yoga. Through yoga Sonya continues to feel her best, despite several traumatic injuries and surgical repairs. She’s stoked to share in the healing practice of yoga. Join her in discovering what yoga means for you!
